LeonaLeona Louise Lewis, born 3rd April 1985, is an actor musician, activist, and singer of British origin. Born within the London Borough of Islington, she attended in the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis was recognized as a national talent when she won the third series of The X Factor in 2006 and was awarded an PS1 million recording deal in partnership with Syco Music. A song by Kelly Clarkson"A Moment Like This" was her winner. The track racked up 50,000 downloads in just 30 minutes and peaked at Number One for 4 weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February 2007. Her success continued after she debuted her first album Spirit (2007). It is certified platinum within the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album of 2000. According to the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album from a female artist at the turn of the century. The UK's number-one single, Bleeding Love, remained at the top of the charts at. one for seven weeks and became the top-selling single of 2007 According to the Official Charts company. The track was also among the top-selling in 2008, as well. Lewis won her Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. Echo was her sophomore studio album. The album also featured the track "I Love You" in the movie Avatar. Lewis's track "Collide" has been a collaboration between Swedish DJ Avicii and she released Hurt The EP, her debut extended performance. Glassheart (2012) came out as Lewis her third studio album. It was an exciting new style. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep as well as electronic music. When she was on the Glassheart Tour in 2013, she started recording music to her Christmas debut album. Later that year, Christmas with Love, which featured her lead single "One more time" it reached the top three spot within the UK. By releasing this chart entry Lewis was the very first British female artist in the top five , with eight singles, surpassing Olivia Newton-John's record which was seven.
